Politicians Keep Using Tax Money to Campaign
I want to talk about this that came to my house the other day because I get this all the time.
This is taxpayer propaganda from U.S. Congressman Jim Baird. It's known as Frank Mail. It is a magazine, which is a glorified campaign ad that we are paying for. You want to know why we're $35 trillion in debt? Because we are forced to pay for crap like this.
It is four pages front and front and back, color nicely printed. Looks like a newspaper. And it is at the top of the header here. Just said big letters. It's his picture. Congressman Jim Baird. I mean, it looks like a political ad. It's got his Twitter handle, X, you know, his Facebook handle, his website.
And it very clearly notes that this is paid for with taxpayer money. It's his official from his from his Congress from his congressional office paid for by official funds authorized by the House of Representatives.
And this is nothing but garbage propaganda. It's just there's written the written like newspaper headlines. And then it's just these bills that he's voted on.
Why are we doing this?
Why are we allowing members of the United States Congress to spend all of this money to campaign?
You know, we hit Diego Morales yesterday for using taxpayer money to film what essentially became a campaign video, which has now been forwarded to the inspector general of the state of Indiana for an investigation by the Marion County Election Board.
This should be investigated as well because it's just as bad.
We have no money in this country. None. We're thirty five trillion dollars in debt.
And yet our representatives. And Jim Baird is one of the worst violators of this. Are using your money, well they're actually using future generations money. They're using my kid's money to send out propaganda pieces to get you to vote for them. And what a huge advantage he has over anyone running against him. Jim Baird has competition.
Craig Haggard is a state rep from Indiana running against Jim Baird. And Jim Baird can use your money to send you propaganda pieces to try to influence your vote. This is disgusting. And it happens all over the place.
I saw billboard post the other day, I believe was for Jefferson Shreve, who is a congressman from the eastern part of the state. It was a campaign billboard, but the wording is just right that he can legally use taxpayer funds. By the way, Jefferson Shreve is worth what? Hundreds of millions of dollars, maybe a billion dollars.
Can't he spend his own money on a billboard, which they already knows what he's doing. Jefferson Shreve has competition, by the way, the system is totally rigged. And this stuff, it is gross. I have to pay for this. I don't have to tolerate it. So Jim Baird, you should be ashamed of yourself. Anybody voting for this? This is what you're voting for. This is why we're 35 trillion in debt.
This is what the Republicans do. They promise to be better. They promise to be different. They promise to get campaign spending under control. And then they waste our money on crap like that.
That in no way benefits anyone other than Jim Baird, just like Diego Morales, filming election workers in Marion County at the American Election Center and then posting it to a public website and then using it for a campaign commercial. And then his excuse on why he shouldn't be in any trouble is, well, I made it available to the public. That doesn't benefit anyone but him. And this is what our elected officials do. They go into office and then they use our money and our resources to benefit themselves.
If you're going to be pissed off about Diego Morales, which you should, you should be equally pissed off at people like Jim Baird who do this. And I get stuff like that from him all the time.
These guys try to paint themselves as good guys or good fiscal stewards or working on your behalf.
Jim Baird is not. And this is not an endorsement of Craig Haggard because I got major issues with him too. And I'm sure since we get we're getting into election season, we'll talk about those.
Our slogan here is we dislike all of these people equally and crap like this is why. How could any person in good faith say that the Republicans are being good stewards of our money when they're sending out stuff like this? I get the Democrats do it too. The difference is the Democrats don't promise me to be better. They don't promise me to be different. Every time they run, don't say elect us, they'll get spending under control. That is disgusting. And Jim Baird should be ashamed of himself. And if you vote for Jim Baird, that's what you're voting for. More of that because that's what you're going to get.
